The Constituent Assembly of Tunisia approved, in a general session held Friday, a 25-million Kuwaiti dinars (kd) loan from Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to improve the natural gas network in the country.
The loan, equivalent to approximately USD 88 million, aims to implement and develop the transport networks and distribution of natural gas produced domestically, which is considered one of the cleanest types of primary energy.
Local media outlets said that 25 cities will benefit from this project.The Loan will be for a period of 20 years, including a grace period of four years, and will be amortized in 32 semi-annual installments. The loan bears interest at 2.5 percent per year.
