Louis Berger has secured a fourth contract extension for independent engineering services at the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Amman, Jordan. Under this contract, with a total value of more than USD 15 million, Louis Berger will continue to provide independent engineering services to the rehabilitation and expansion program.

During the new project phase, Louis Berger will perform duties during the construction of an additional 46,500 square meter passenger terminal area. Construction work for aircraft contact gates, remote boarding gates, link bridges, moving walkways are also part of the scheme.


The finished terminal will have the capacity to process nine million passengers per year, with the potential site capacity to process 12 million per year. The program’s completion date is scheduled for mid-2016.

Louis Berger’s previous services at QAIA were performed during the construction of a new 100,000 square meter, 14-gate passenger terminal building as well as improvements to existing airside and landside facilities. Full operations were transferred to the new terminal last March. Louis Berger provided operations monitoring support during the eight-hour overnight transfer.
