Prime Minister Imran Khan upon returning from United States reaffirmed commitment to make Pakistan great, vowing to bring to justice those who looted and plundered the country.The premier, who arrived in Islamabad early Thursday morning, was received at the airport by party leaders, workers and dozens of supporters.
Speaking at the Islamabad International Airport after concluding the successful visit to the United States, the PM pledged he would not disappoint the nation, Radio Pakistan reported.
“I have not bowed down to anyone and I will not let my people bow down before anyone either. The day is not far when the world will respect ‘green passport’ and Pakistan will emerge as a great country of the world,” he added.
The prime minister further expressed his resolve to rebuild the institutions damaged by the former rulers through their corrupt practices.
He also reiterated his vision to of ‘Naya Pakistan’, saying he will ensure construction of hospitals, provision of clean drinking water and employment opportunities for citizens.
PM Imran was on a three-day visit to Washington where he held talks with US President Donald Trump, interacted with Congressional leaders and addressed a think-tank.
The Afghan peace process remained at the top of the agenda during his meetings with members of the Trump administration.
The premier also had a brief stopover in Doha where he received a royal reception. Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani welcomed his Pakistani counterpart at Hamd International Airport. After a brief meeting at the airport, the two sides also held detailed discussions at the Qatari premier’s residence, where a banquet dinner was hosted in honour of Prime Minister Imran and his delegation.
