256,000 travellers used airport during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays..

Up to 256,000 passengers have used the Kuwait International Airport (KIA) during Eid Al-Fitr holidays, through 1,700 flights, said Director General of Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Eng Yusuf Al-Fawzan Saturday. Al-Fawzan made the statement to KUNA on the sidelines of an inspection tour by DGCA Chairman Sheikh Salman Sabah Salim Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, to the airport’s Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 4.

In spite of the rising numbers of passengers, movement at the airport is proceeding normally and smoothly, in line with a set plan, Al-Fawzan noted. During the visit, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud highly appreciated the efforts by the bodies operating at the airport, with the Interior Ministry and the General Administration of Customs and the DGCA on top. Earlier, the DGCA said that they had made improvements at Terminal 1 for the summer season.

Meanwhile, air traffic at The Kuwait International Airport was back to normal Sunday after a few hours of disruption due to unstable weather, said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA resumed traffic at the airport after the improvement of the visibility level, head of the Air Aviation Department at the DGCA Emad Al-Senosi told KUNA. He, however, forecasted that the unstable weather might continue in the coming four days, but could relatively improve as of Tuesday.
