Grand Mosque of Kuwait ready for last 10 days of Ramadan.

The Grand Mosque Administration affiliated to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has concluded preparations to receive worshipers for the night prayers in the last 10 days of Ramadan.Director of the Grand Mosque Administration Roumi Al-Roumi disclosed that several committees have been instituted to ensure the comfort of worshipers, and that preparations were made in coordination with several authorities in the country since the administration is expecting over 18,000 worshipers for the night prayers.

He stated the Grand Mosque is an Islamic cultural edifice whose role extends beyond its 40,000 square/ meters premises. He pointed out that the administration provides Iftar meals, in addition to sermons and cultural programs at over 70 mosques serving Muslims from no less than 25 countries in Kuwait.

As regards preparations for the nights, Al-Roumi declared visiting the mosque to inspect the finishing touches put together in cooperation with other government agencies. He noted some 350 volunteers are readily available to serve the worshippers and provide their needs.

He revealed that prayer mats and tents will not be provided outside the mosque due to the ongoing construction on the First Ring Road, but assured the mosque is large enough to contain 18,000 worshipers. He reaffirmed the best Kuwaiti youth who are fantastic in the recitation of Holy Quran have been selected to lead the Taraweeh prayers. He added the management has provided fully air-conditioned spaces for prayer, considering the hot weather.
